A CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SHCY COMMENTARIES
SHCY Commentaries offers a multi-media, online opportunity to globally circulate your ideas to scholars studying childhood and youth historically. A Commentary may take the form of a written essay with accompanying visual material, and we encourage audio or video. Previous episodes have discussed methodological challenges, reflected upon scholarly journeys, addressed professional issues, commented on current politics and policies, and offered substantive claims within the history of childhood and youth (widely construed).
Are you giving a keynote address, or a local public lecture? Record it in audio or video, and contact us. SHCY has the ability to make your work available globally to thousands of scholars every month.
SHCY Commentaries provides an accessible space for scholarly discourse outside peer-reviewed journals and books, academic conferences and programs of study. Texts should typically be between 1,000 and 4,000 words. Audio/Video files should typically be under 90 minutes. Photographs and other visual materials are important; this is the internet. We are open to alternative lengths and to discussing opportunities for multi-lingual productions.
Commentaries will be featured upon and permanently accessible on SHCY’s website. Interested scholars should contact us or submit ideas and materials to editor@shcy.org to reach Patrick Ryan.
Please circulate at will.
