2017 Outreach Grant Winners

The Society for the History of Children and Youth is pleased to announce the selections for 2017 Outreach Grants:

Dr. Silke Hackenesch (University of Kassel) for the international conference “Designing Modern Families: International Perspectives on ‘Intercountry’ and Transracial Adoptions” (Nov 17–18, 2017).

M.J. Maynes (University of Minnesota) for a visit by Dr. Samia Khatun (McKenzie Postdoctoral Research Fellow, School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne, Australia) to the University of Minnesota to present a workshop and a public lecture on her current research project, a 400-year history of girls and young women (mostly between the ages of 13 and 21) engaged in textile work in what is now Bangladesh (late October, 2017).

Graduate student grant: Victoria Holec, for a full-day interdisciplinary symposium at the Institute for Child & Youth Studies (I-CYS), University of Lethbridge, At the Intersections of Childhood Symposium, on the intersections of digital, Indigenous, and youth issues (April 1, 2017).
